Granite Basin to Badger Creek
5-Day Pack Trip

Badger Creek
DAY 1
Saddle up and ride from the North Leigh trailhead along Tin Cup Creek or from the Teton Ridge Ranch barn. As we cross the open meadows, you'll want to stop and admire breath-taking views of the Tetons. We'll make our way down a steep spot on the trail but the reward is an exciting view of this spectacular canyon. From the ridge separating South Leigh Canyon from Granite Basin, we'll drop down into our secluded campsite at Dead Duck Lake. The horses love to graze the lush meadows near camp.

DAY 2
We'll saddle up and day ride to the divide. You can stop along the way to take pictures in the wildflower meadows and fish in the high mountain lakes. Enjoy a relaxing lunch as you look over into Jackson's Hole and Teton Basin. And, if you are game try hiking to the top of Little's Peak

The CowgirlsDAY 3
We'll move to our next campsite in Badger Creek via the Teton Crest trail dropping down in this lovely creek bottom. Look for wildlife as we travel the head of this canyon. There's plenty of feed and water for the horses in this campsite. Fish or swim as we set up camp.

DAY 4
As we day ride up the ridge of Rammel Mountain, look south along the spine of the Tetons and down into the headwaters of Badger and Bitch Creek. On a clear day you can see as far north as Bechler Meadow and the Pitchtone Plateau of Yellowstone. Or, perhaps you'd prefer to ride Dry Ridge to the Crow's Nest. Take a short hike to the tip-top to the perfect picnic spot. Whichever ride you choose for this day, don't forget your camera!

DAY 5

Take a leisurely ride home by way of the Badger Creek trail. We'll picnic along the creek, try a bit more fishing, and enjoy the abundant wildflowers on the south slope of the canyon. A perfect day for the completion of this pack trip.

There are many choices for our 5-day pack trips. They all offer spectacular mountain country with lots of variety in terrain. We'll pass through lodge pole forests, beautiful wildflower meadows, high mountain lakes, and steep rocky trails for Teton views. Just ask for more of our descriptions.
